DANCES

Dance Policy for UW locations only
(Tripp Commons and Great Hall)

Dances are limited to UW students, faculty, and staff and their guests.
  • Attendees must be at least 18 years of age with ID
  • UW students, faculty, and staff must present their university ID and are responsible for any guest that they bring who is not part of the university
  • UW students, faculty, and staff are allowed up to two guests

The Ten Percent Society normally holds between two and four LGBT oriented dances each semester (and we LOVE to have allies come too!). The dances are open to University of Wisconsin students, staff, faculty, and their friends. Most dances are held from 10 PM to 1:45 AM in the Memorial Union, 800 Langdon Street in Madison. There are DJ's and a cash bar. Admission is $5 at the door. Please remember that the University of Wisconsin - Madison campus is smoke-free. Great Hall and Tripp Commons are accessible to people with disabilities. The current tentative dance schedule:

Back-to-School Dance: Friday, September 26 in Tripp Commons (10pm)

Coming Out Party : Saturday, November 15 in the Orpheum (10pm)

iDrag: Friday, December 5 in the Majestic (9pm)

Drag Show: Friday, April 24 in Great Hall (9pm) - Be on the lookout for more information coming soon!

If your organization is interested in receiving funding from TPS, download our Fundraising Application for more details. Applications are due March 4th by 5pm for the drag show on April 24th. Notification will be sent out by Friday, March 6th.
